We are grateful to the local leaders who took time to visit LMMA and witness firsthand the impact of high-quality early childhood education. Thank you to Assembly Members Yarrow Silvers, George Martinez and Representative Donna Mears, and Senator Bill Wielechowski for touring our center and championing childcare in our community. Your continued advocacy means the world to Anchorage families and childcare providers alike.

We’re excited to share that we’ve expanded to additional classrooms, making room for 40+ students from our waitlist. These new spaces, set to open September 1, 2026. We see this expansion as a step forward in meeting the childcare needs of Anchorage families, and we remain committed to serving with excellence, faith, and care for the next generation.

Anchorage is in a childcare crisis. Long waitlists, rising tuition, and staffing shortages are the result of a system in need of serious support. More and more centers are being forced to close their doors.

LMMA is committed to being here for another 50 years, but we can’t do it alone. Make your voice heard by emailing the Anchorage Assembly at assembly@anchorageak.gov and ask them to prioritize:

• Childcare deregulation

• Increased municipal and state support

• Sustainable funding for childcare providers

• Solutions for the staffing crisis affecting centers across Alaska

State and local leaders need to hear directly from parents, grandparents, business owners, and community members like you. Together, we can ensure that Anchorage families have safe, high-quality, and faith-filled care options for years to come.
